In order to give parents more involvement in the selection of their child’s school meal, and to assist the catering staff serving the children in the dining room, we have introduced a banding system. We run a two weekly menu from which the children can select their meal choice on each of the 10 days (please see below). This allows parents/carers to know what their child is eating each day and enables the catering staff to prepare the correct number of meals and assists them when serving the lunches.
At lunchtime the children are then given a coloured band according to their meal selection. The bands are collected from the children at lunchtime and washed before being distributed the following day.
In addition there are a number of themed lunches throughout the year of which you will be notified.
Children in Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 qualify for Universal Free School Meals. From Year 3 upwards the cost of a school meal is £2.10 per day from September 2018. Some parents may still qualify for free school meals if they claim certain benefits. The criteria and further information can be found on the Leeds City Council website.
Meals should be paid for each week, one week in advance and on a Monday morning if possible. All money must be in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with your child's name and class. If your payments are sent into school with your child and you require a receipt, please state this clearly on the envelope.
If your child wishes to change from dinners to packed lunches or vice-versa, please contact the school office to complete the relevant form. We ask that you allow 5 working days notice.
If you wish to enquire about our school lunches, please contact the school office Monday to Friday on 0113 8878235 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Milk is provided daily free of charge to all children under the age of 5. Once a child reaches their fifth birthday parents may apply online to have this continued for a small cost.
